THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

This chapter does a great job of explaining the importance and necessity of having a social media marketing branch in many companies in today's modern business world. The chapter also explains how most companies are behind the 8 ball where this is concerned and that most companies haven't even invested in any sort of social media marketing branch within the company itself. I personally feel that this is a key way for smaller companies to take advantage of an opportunity to get ahead of their larger competition.

The benefits of having a social media marketing team completely outweighs the costs especially in today's media driven world. Being able to reach such a large audience with such ease can be an absolute game changer when it comes to sales, exposure, and overall public opinion. Although this can be an overall simple and highly effective basicness strategy it takes quite a lot of thought and calculation to execute with maximum effectiveness.

The overall steps and strategies are quite similar to the previous chapter discussing personal branding. The biggest one is identifying your target audience. Being able to do this will provide a clear path as far as what content to post, where and when to post it. Once a company declares the audience they want to attract, the rest of the strategy will become clear and will come quite naturally. The more time put into the planning and strategy the better the execution will be and the better the results will show.

  1. Hey, Ryan. Your blog was a fun one to read as it was full of useful information regarding marketing on social media. Like you said, the biggest thing to do is identify and know your target audience. How are you supposed to do anything else if you don't even know your target audience? You explained it really well and mentioned that its pretty much downhill from there in terms of how much easier it will be for you.

  2. Hey Ryan, I agree with you 100%. I think that identifying the target audience is the strongest thing a company can do in order to produce.
